The Challenge

Euna Solutions, a leader in providing software solutions, was in the process of implementing Intune SCEP to strengthen its security by enabling certificate-based authentication for devices and users. However, the project faced significant challenges:

  • Incomplete Configuration: The SCEP setup remained unfinished, leaving gaps in the system’s security and functionality.
  • Third-Party Cloud CA Integration: The project required the integration of a third-party cloud certificate authority, which added complexity due to compatibility and configuration challenges.
  • Need for Secure Access: Euna required tenant access controls that ensured both device and user certificate validation, securing access to sensitive systems and data.

BitSummit was tasked with completing the SCEP configuration, seamlessly integrating the third-party cloud CA, and ensuring that the system functioned according to Euna’s security requirements.

Our Solutions

BitSummit provided senior-level consulting to deliver the following key services:

1. Finalization of Intune SCEP Configuration

  • Review and Completion: BitSummit conducted a thorough review of the existing SCEP setup and completed the configuration to align with Euna’s security needs.
  • Third-Party CA Integration: Seamlessly integrated a third-party cloud CA into the Intune SCEP setup to ensure certificate-based authentication for both users and devices.
  • Access Control Setup: Configured tenant access restrictions requiring both device and user certificates for system access, enhancing security across the environment.

2. Comprehensive Testing

  • Scenario-Based Testing: Conducted detailed testing across various user roles, devices, and operating systems to validate the third-party CA integration and overall SCEP functionality.
  • Device Management Validation: Ensured that all devices could securely enroll and authenticate using the third-party cloud CA for certificates.

3. Documentation and Knowledge Transfer

  • Detailed Documentation: Developed comprehensive documentation, covering all aspects of the SCEP configuration, third-party CA integration, and system management guidelines.
  • Knowledge Transfer Sessions: Conducted training sessions for Euna’s IT staff, ensuring they had the knowledge and tools to maintain and troubleshoot the Intune SCEP system, along with the third-party CA integration.

The Results

Optimized Security and Device Compliance

  • Strengthened Security: Successfully implemented secure certificate-based authentication using the third-party cloud CA, significantly improving Euna’s security posture.
  • Improved Compliance: Ensured the system adhered to industry security standards, enhancing compliance and reducing unauthorized access risks.

Seamless Integration with Existing Infrastructure

  • Smooth Configuration: Finalized the Intune SCEP setup and seamlessly integrated the third-party cloud CA without disrupting ongoing operations.
  • Enhanced Device Management: Enabled secure, certificate-based access for all devices across Euna’s organization, streamlining enrollment and management processes.

Empowered IT Team for Future Management

  • Knowledge Retention: Equipped Euna’s IT team with the skills and documentation necessary to manage and troubleshoot the Intune SCEP and third-party CA integration independently.
  • Ongoing Efficiency: Reduced reliance on external support by enabling the IT team to handle future updates and configuration changes.
